The Enugu State Government has formed a standing committee to review property title documents, construction approvals, and address double and wrongful allocations. The committee will also handle issues with double certificates of occupancy. Additionally, it will evaluate compensations for lands acquired by the government.
Reform of our legal system, including digitalisation/automation of justice administration and robust law review, will be sustained and optimized this year, as a critical step towards boosting investors’ confidence, improving livelihood and accelerating the administration of Justice. Digitalisation and Automation of the Justice sector project is currently ongoing in the Judiciary and Ministry of Justice.
The Enugu State Electricity Law 2023, will open the Enugu electricity market to both foreign and local investors in the energy industry to boost power generation, transmission and distribution. This will, in turn, support our industries, business activities and boost our economy. There are many such strategic laws being passed by the State Assembly and assented to by His Excellency, the Governor. To this end, the Laws of Enugu State has been digitised and uploaded on this website for ease of accessibility.

This department is a service organ to other departments. Its functions include General maintenance and cleanliness in the Ministry, in charge of all personnel matters within the ministry including appointments, recruitment, promotions, advancements, disciplinary matters, conversions, transfers, retirements, pensions, nominal roll, leave, etc., Recording proceedings in management meetings, Junior Staff Committee, Annual Draft Estimates, Control of Security Guards and watchmen and Dispatching letters within and outside the Ministry.
This department is responsible for research, collation, and preparation of the monthly and annual performance reports of the Ministry; also, responsible for the preparation of all plan documents for the Ministry including the Annual budget, Medium Term Sector Strategy plans, (MTSS), Medium Term Expenditure Plan (MTEP), etc. The Department also acts as secretary to the Ministry of Justice Tenders Board.
This department is responsible for directing and coordinating the various fiscal activities of the Ministry to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, applicable fiscal, rules and policies. The functions of the department are: Facilitates salary payment and rendering of returns, Overhead payment and rendering of returns, Sourcing of funds due to Ministry of Justice, Oversee AG/PT financial accounts, Budgeting, and implementation of approved estimate, Monitors and vets CRMC account.
This department, with the approval of the management, procures law books and other materials. It also stores, arranges, and makes library facilities available to users. The library staff assist researchers.
Appeals department is charged with the responsibility of handling state civil and criminal matters at both the court of appeal and supreme Court as the case maybe. As well as preparation of notices of appeal and brief of argument as directed by the Honourable Attorney General.
